At the District annual election held on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, William Southwell was elected to his fourth 5-year term as Fire Commissioner of the North East Joint Fire District. Commissioner Southwell has been an active member of the Webster Volunteer Fire Department for nearly 54 years and is a well-respected Past Chief of the WVFD. Commissioner Southwell also serves as the Vice-Chairman of the North East Joint Fire District's Board of Fire Commissioners.

Commissioner Southwell’s fourth term as Fire Commissioner commences on January 1, 2025, and runs through 2029.
