Media Release March 13, 2025 At 8:10 AM on Thursday, March 13, the Webster Fire Department was dispatched to the Webster Wastewater Treatment Plant, located at 226 Phillips Road, for a report of a male who had fallen from scaffolding. Upon arrival, Webster fire line officers found the victim in a pit approximately 16 feet below ground level, suffering from a severe impalement injury. First-arriving units immediately began providing medical care and stabilizing the patient. Ground ladders were used to access the pit while additional resources were requested due to the complexity of the rescue. Webster Fire Department command requested assistance from the Monroe County Special Operations Unit to facilitate the technical rescue. Once the patient was safely removed from the pit, he was transferred to Penfield Ambulance and transported to Strong Memorial Hospital, where he is currently receiving medical treatment. The Webster Fire Department extends its gratitude to all agencies involved in this challenging incident, including the West Webster Fire Department, the Monroe County Special Operations Unit, the Webster Police Department, and the Town of Webster.
