The North East Joint Fire District is honored to introduce Edward Dake as the newly appointed Fire Commissioner. On February 19, 2025, the Board of Fire Commissioners appointed Ed Dake to the position of Fire Commissioner to fill the vacancy created in early January with the retirement of Commissioner August Vorndran.

Commissioner Dake has over 23 years of experience in the fire service having served with both the Egypt and Webster Fire Departments. Commissioner Dake has a vast amount of fire service experience having served in many positions including lieutenant, captain and trustee. Commissioner Dake has also volunteered to serve on many committees including recruitment and retention, membership, apparatus replacement and facility construction and renovation.

Commissioner Dake's appointment runs through December 31, 2025. This elected Commissioner position will be on the ballot at the District election on December 9, 2025.
